Established in 1937 and located in Bomet County, Tenwek Hospital is the Medical Ministry of the Africa Gospel Church in collaboration with the World Gospel Mission. We are a 361 bed capacity, Level 6(b), Teaching and Referral Mission Hospital which serves the needs of the vast South West region of Kenya and the country at large.

  Tenwek Hospital, Kenya.

Russell E. White is the chief of surgery and surgery residency director at Tenwek Hospital. He and his wife, Beth have been Hope Church Missionaries for many years and have been guest speakers at Hope Church. Dr. White recently sent this update to Joe Forfa asking for prayer for two new key additions to Tenwek Hospital.

                                   TENWEK HOSPITAL 2021 Urgent Prayer Requests
 
This was a winter update from Dr. Russell White, 

   The new apartments for the Tenwek CardioThoracic Center (CTC) are complete and trainees are moving in on Saturday, Jan. 30. The excavation for the main CTC hospital is nearly complete. We will be opening bids from construction contractors on Feb. 4 for construction of the hospital. This will give us a very clear idea of how much the construction is going to cost (we have been using estimates up until now). I am anticipating that we will need at least $2 million to continue construction on the next phase of pouring foundations and beginning concrete and steel works.
   PLEASE PRAY: 1. That bids on Feb. 4 will favorable to us. 2. That the Lord will bring sufficient funds in to allow us to continue.

   Experienced orthopedic surgeons interested in teaching young, Christian, African orthopedic surgical residents are desperately needed. Tenwek Hospital has a very busy orthopedic department. We have been taking 2 residents per year in a five year training program. Before the end of 2021, two of our three faculty orthopedic surgeons will be permanently returning to the US. We are great danger of losing our orthopedic surgical training program. PLEASE PRAY: That God will move in the hearts of several American orthopedic surgeons to answer the call and come and join us in taking care of our vast number of patients in need, and in teaching our young doctors.
